Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly are believed to be 'on a break' and have put a pause on their wedding planning in order to work on their issues, just days after it was said they need a significant breakthrough.

However, the 36-year-old actress and 32-year-old pop punk rapper (born Colson Baker) are still in communication, Us Weekly reports.

Insiders told the publication on Wednesday: 'Megan and MGK are currently on a break but are still in contact. They are very hot and cold.'

DailyMail.com has reached out to representatives for both parties and has yet to hear back.

As the power couple were engaged in January 2022, many have speculated over the status of the wedding.

A source claimed: 'They have stalled wedding planning to work on their issues.

'Their relationship is pretty volatile at the moment. They are currently off, but still texting each other.'

A week ago it was reported that their relationship was still on the rocks, and might need a 'significant breakthrough' in order to work.

The actress - who was recently spotted partying withouther engagement ring and the rapper-turned-rocker have reportedly been trying to save their romance, after recently  sparking break-up rumors.

'[Megan] isn't sure where things stand with Colson, and it's complicated at the moment. They’re still working on their relationship because the love they had was the real deal,' a source told Us Weekly.

'That’s not something that just goes away overnight. However, they would need to have a significant breakthrough to make things work. It’s all up in the air right now.'

The dynamic pair — who got engaged in January 2022 after dating for over a year — reportedly had 'a big fight' over Super Bowl weekend in February.

'She was supposed to go to his performance at the Sports Illustrated party, but they had a fight and she canceled plans and flew out Saturday evening,' the source revealed.

Meanwhile the pair's friends apparently believe that the relationship 'is likely over' but Megan and MGK aren't ready to 'call it yet' according to People.

'They're not completely done. They're still trying to sort through things, but most of their friends think it is likely over. They're just not ready to totally call it yet,' the insider shared.

Megan continued to fuel breakup rumors as she was spotted riding solo and not wearing her engagement ring at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party.

For the lavish event held at the Wallis Annenberg Center in Beverly Hills, the Jennifer's Body star put on a busty display in a plunging black gown.

She looked dazzling in a chandelier diamond necklace but, most noticeably, was spotted without the double engagement ring personally designed by her beau.

She first sparked break-up rumors on Super Bowl Sunday when she uploaded a cryptic Instagram post with lyrics about 'dishonesty,' followed by deleting all traces of the rapper from her main page.

The lyrics - from Beyonce's 2016 track Pray You Catch Me - alongside a sultry selfie and a photo of burning letters seemed to suggest trouble in paradise.

Shortly before the Instagram post and the deactivation of her account overall, both Megan and Kelly were spotted attending a Super Bowl party together in Arizona.

Not too long after her post, the Till Death star deactivated her Instagram page before quickly resurfacing to shut down rumors of a split and insisted that no cheating had occurred in their relationship.

Another insider also told People that the model had 'initially thought' there was cheating, but 'now is backtracking a bit.'

The source added that Fox, who celebrated the one-year anniversary of her engagement to the singer in January, 'was definitely hinting at infidelity with her first post. She regrets making it all so public, but was really upset in the moment.'

Megan also came to the defense of Kelly's guitarist, Sophie Lloyd, who was chucked into their relationship drama.

On a post the musician shared the star wrote in the comment section: 'How me making a joke in order to absolve this girl of a hurtful accusation somehow turned into a confirmation of it - I will never understand. Why are people so…so dumb.'

'Sophie you are insanely talented,' she continued, and then added, 'Welcome to Hollywood. Your first unwarranted PR disaster. You have now been baptized by the flames of fame.'

At the end of February, Page Six reported that the lovebirds had been having daily couples therapy sessions over Zoom.

'Megan feels that they must give therapy a shot before making any permanent decisions,' a source shared.

Another insider revealed to the publication that Megan had discovered both 'DM’s and text messages' on the rapper's phone which prompted her to 'believe he has been having an affair.'

The source further explained that 'tthey are broken up, but Megan is seeing where they stand. She wants to see what they can salvage,' while adding that Kelly 'really wants to make up.'

Megan and MGK were later spotted exiting a marriage counseling office together  in exclusive DailyMail.com photos taken in February, but ended up parting ways in separate vehicles.

The pair met on the set of Midnight In The Switchgrass and starred alongside each other in the 2021 thriller film.

They dated for more than a year before they got engaged in January 2022.

Megan was previously married to fellow actor Brian Austin Green, from 2010 until their divorce was finalized in 2021, after they'd separated a year earlier.

The two share three children together, Noah, 10, Bodhi, 9, and Journey, 6.
